Development of a simple and rapid infectious disease nucleic acid testing system

Abstract: Emerging infectious diseases caused by global warming and the appearance of multidrug-resistant bacteria are serious threats in the world. In order to respond to these threats, an examination diagnostic method which can detect the causative microorganisms and factors quickly, accurately, and easily and which has an economical tolerance in the clinical setting is indispensable.

The nucleic acid test (NAT) expected as a high-precision test requires complexity in the method, and the high cost of automatic equipment is a problem, and its application to countermeasures against infectious diseases is not progressing as expected.

To this problem, KANEKA Corp. has developed "Kaneka Easy DNA Extraction Kit" and "Kaneka NAT Chromato system" which can detect multiple gene easily, quickly and inexpensively. Currently, various test items are being developed in the field of infectious diseases mainly for drug resistant bacterial tests, and we are studying practical application to clinical practice.
