2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, and the Sino-French joint medical school is the epitome of the cooperation between these two countries. Over the past 4 decades, more than 450 French medical professionals have spent time teaching at the school of medicine in Shanghai, while over 300 students have been sent to France for a one-year residency. Many students have become leading experts in the medical field including Wang Zhenyi, an expert in internal medicine and hematology and Shen Baiyong, the vice-president of Ruijin Hospital.
